Full in Planned Classes

For the 2024 - 2025 school year, Ivor Dent School is full in planned classes in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Welcome

Welcome to Ivor Dent School!

At Ivor Dent School, our work is guided by Edmonton Public Schools' four cornerstone values: accountability, collaboration, equity and integrity. Our welcoming, inclusive, safe and healthy school environment supports all of our diverse learners in their quest for success. We know that student success is a collective responsibility, and that success may look different from one student to the next.  When students, staff, parents and community members work together in the best interests of our students, everyone wins!

Ivor Dent School offers Full Day Kindergarten to Grade 9 programming. Students in Grades 4 through 9 take French as a Second Language.  The inclusive Knowledge and Employability curriculum is offered to identified students in grades 8 and 9. Ivor Dent School is a Division site for the Connections Program (previously called Behaviour and Learning Assistance). It consists of three classes: Grades 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9.

Principal's Message

At Ivor Dent School, we Give Respect, Take Responsibility, and Build Relationships.  We use this motto to frame much of our work with students.  We know that significant learning happens when students have positive and healthy relationships with their teachers and classroom staff in addition to those they have with their parents/guardians.  Students are encouraged to do their best and to learn from their mistakes, both academically and socially.  This learning allows them to develop and enhance their ability to be respectful and responsible and to form healthy relationships.

The relationship between home and school is important in our work and is critical to the success of our students.  Effective communication is essential.  Please ensure that you keep all contact information up to date, and that you reach out to us with any questions or concerns you might have. In addition to phone calls and email, we use SchoolZone to share important information with our families.  All students and parents have access to SchoolZone. Parents can access progress reports, attendance information, school and Division news on SchoolZone.

Thank you for joining us at Ivor Dent!  We look forward to connecting and working alongside you and your child as they pursue their educational journey.
